Brussels - Eurogroup head Jean-Claude Juncker voiced optimism on Tuesday that the eurozone will soon decide to increase its rescue fund for ailing economies.
"I am hopeful" that the eurozone leaders will confirm, at a March summit, an increase in the emergency fund's capacity, the Luxembourg prime minister said after marathon talks in Brussels with eurozone finance ministers.
The combined total of the EFSF fund and a fund which will replace it in July is currently €500bn.
