Cape Town – Eskom has warned users of a high possibility of load shedding on Saturday.
In a tweet from its official Twitter account Eskom said: "There's a high probability of load shedding tomorrow. Customers are encouraged to continue using electricity sparingly to limit the impact".

“The capacity available to meet that evening’s peak demand is 29 724 MW [including open cycle gas turbines] while demand is forecast at 28 774 MW,” the bulletin said.
According to Eskom electricity demand tends to decrease from Friday going into the weekend.
On Thursday Eskom initiated stage 3 load shedding citing system malfunction at 27 of its 87 power stations.

Eskom customers can check load shedding schedules on the Eskom website or contact the customer call centre 0860 037 566. Municipal customers are urged to contact their local authorities.
