Brussels - The European Union on Wednesday rejected Chinese allegations that it is illegally subsidising and undercutting prices for its exported wines.
"There is not such dumping or subsidies in the wine sector in Europe, when it comes to the export of wine to China," European Commission spokesperson Olivier Bailly said.
"China is entitled, as any of the World Trade Organisation members, to start an investigation," he added, while also warning that any probe has to comply with rules on merit and due process.
