Johannesburg – The European Union and South Africa have expressed their support of the African regional and continental integration agenda.
The two held a summit in Brussels this week, where several issues including development, trade, climate change and peace and security were discussed.
They have called upon the upcoming third Africa-EU Summit to be held on the 29 to 30 November, to address issues such as economic development and political stability.
".. to address the issue of investment, economic growth and job creation, to discuss on the highest political level the new international challenges and opportunities that have arisen since 2007," they said in a statement.
While the third Africa-EU Summit is expected to adopt an action plan for 2011-13, it's also expected to gauge the progress of the 2008-10 plan.
"The summit should also take stock of the achievements of the Joint Strategy and its first action plan, and discuss the way forward regarding its improved implementation," they said.
