Johannesburg - The SA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Sacci) on Friday welcomed the wage agreement that saw the end of the truck drivers' strike.

"Sacci admires the transport companies for their responsible handling of the situation and offers best wishes to a quick return to normal operational levels."

The organisation called on authorities to investigate and prosecute individuals responsible for the vandalism and violence which took place during the strike.

Unions and employers signed a three-year wage deal in Johannesburg on Friday, ending the strike action that was marred by violence and intimidation.
