Durban - Durban will host the Brics Summit in March, the
Mercury reported on Wednesday.
The Brics nations are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South
Africa.
The annual summit would be attended by their presidents and
government and business delegations, the newspaper reported.
"This is an incredible honour, especially since South
Africa is the newest member of this important economic and political bloc of
nations," said KwaZulu-Natal premier Zweli Mkhize.
He made the announcement at the annual KwaZulu-Natal Growth
Coalition business breakfast in Durban on Tuesday.
International relations spokesperson Clayson Monyela said the exact dates of the summit had not yet been finalised.
