Cape Town - Former Eskom chairperson Bobby Godsell and former Spoornet CEO Dolly Mokgatle have been appointed to an energy council which will advise government on a way to solve South Africa's energy crisis.

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa told MPs during his question time in parliament on Wednesday that the war room - which he leads - was busy appointing members to the energy council.

CORRECTION: In the below live updates feed, Chris Yelland was incorrectly quoted in ACDP MP Kenneth Meshoe's question. He was in fact referring to energy expert Andrew Kenny. The error has been amended below.
