Johannesburg - The Black Management Forum (BMF) has withdrawn its participation in business advocacy group Business Unity SA (Busa) with immediate effect, it said on Monday.
The unanimous decision was taken at a recent BMF board meeting, it said.
The BMF cited "the fundamentally flawed" Busa structure as one of the reasons for its decision. The voice of black business within Busa was "permanently outnumbered and suppressed", the forum added.
It said that of the about 50 organisations comprising Busa, black business had no more than 10 votes, making it impossible for the voice of black business to be heard on transformational issues under the "one organisation, one vote" principle.
The black business organisation further accused Busa of not sharing the same agenda on transformation.
"The recent anti-transformation pronouncements of Busa on the labour law reforms, labour brokers and the hypocritical stance on good governance on the CEO appointment process are just examples on how far behind Busa is on embaracing transformation and good governance," the BMF said.
