'Beware of jobs for cash scam'

Pretoria - Those wishing to apply for vacancies must not pay individuals posing as government officials, the department of water said on Wednesday.

"(We) have been alerted to a jobs for cash scam in Pretoria, in which potential job seekers are asked to make payments of R500 to secure posts advertised during the current departmental recruitment drive," said spokesperson Linda Page.

She said the department did not require payment from applicants and would not take responsibility for victims of this scam.

Page appealed to members of the public to report these criminals to the police.
