Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) will march to the JSE, the Chamber of Mines and the Union Buildings as part of its call for economic freedom, it said on Thursday.
"The NWC (national working committee) remains unshaken on its programme of economic freedom in our lifetime and will continue to lobby for the nationalisation of mines and for land expropriation without compensation," said spokesperson Floyd Shivambu in a statement.
In the next two weeks, the league would hold bilateral talks with "fraternal organisations" and would "roll out mass action throughout the country".
"The ANCYL will mobilise all young people, unemployed youth, informal settlement dwellers to fight against economic oppression in all its formats and character.
"The details of these mass protests will be unveiled on the birthday of the ANCYL, 12th September 2011."
This was announced after a regular meeting of the ANCYL's NWC on Thursday.
Shivambu said the league was "inspired" that the ANC structures at provincial, regional and branch level agreed with it on nationalisation of the mines and the expropriation of land without compensation.
"The ANCYL members must never be demoralised or defocused by threats that are circulating in the media, they must remain vigilant, focused and on the ground.
"The struggle for economic freedom will never be diverted by anybody."
The league resolved that nationalisation of the mines and land expropriation without compensation should become ANC policy at its national conference in June.
