About three years ago I made a promise to myself that I would be debt-free on my 40th birthday.
I went to a debt counsellor and revealed the agonising state of my debt.
I could not handle debt any more and changed my action towards being debt-free.
In September 2012 I received my clearance from my debt counsellor. In October 2012 when I had my 40th birthday, I felt that all my hard work was worth it all.
This did not go without some huge sacrifices. At one point in time I even told my debt counsellor to give me permission to sort out my debt as they took much too long.
