Johannesburg - Clothing retailer Truworths said on Thursday that group retail sales for the 47-week period to May 18 had risen by 16.1% to R5.166bn, against the previous 46-week period.
Truworths said if the effect of the additional week in the current period was excluded, group retail sales would have been up 13.9%. Comparable or same store retail sales grew by 8.7% and product inflation was about 6%, the company said in a statement.
