The tribunal said in a statement on Tuesday the confirmation of the two negotiated settlement agreements had been set down for Wednesday July 7.
Following a complaint filed by the National Treasury in March 2009 and after an investigation, the Competition Commission found evidence of collusive tendering between Anix Trading and Zedek Trading.
The two companies, which are both active in the sourcing and supply of goods or services to the private and public sector via tender processes, had admitted contravening the Competition Act by discussing bids and prices with each other.
The contravention was in respect of a government tender for the supply and delivery of animal feed to all nine provinces.
Both Anix Trading and Zedek Trading had agreed to refrain from engaging in collusive tendering in contravention of the Competition Act.
Both companies had also agreed to pay an administrative penalty of R20 000 each.
During the commission's investigation Anix Trading provided evidence of the alleged collusion.
A representative from Anix Trading confirmed that Anix Trading and
Zedek Trading had had discussions on pricing relating to their tender
submissions to the state for the supply and delivery of animal feed from May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2011.
