Tourism leader now heads virtual reality company

Cape Town - EON Reality, a based in California, has appointed David Scowsill, former president and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as its new CEO.

The company specialises in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) based knowledge transfer for industry and education.

According to Scowsill, the world is entering a new phase of technological disruption, driven by big data, artificial intelligence, robotics, AR and VR.

“This will have a dramatic impact on all of our lives, with many jobs being automated and others being created. I am delighted to be joining the EON family at this critical stage, when the company is scaling rapidly, developing the technology platform and rolling out interactive digital centres around the world,” explained Scowsill.

According to Dan Lejerskar, founder of EON Reality, Scowsill's international business experience, vast network with global industry and government leaders and his numerous executive positions make him a perfect choice for CEO and to lead EON Reality in its next accelerated growth phase.
