Comair employees to strike over wages - union

Johannesburg - The United Association of South Africa (UASA) said on Thursday about 80 of its members were striking outside airline operator Comair's head office, demanding higher wages.

"The strike is underway outside the head office and about 80 members are here at the moment. We expect more to join," UASA spokesperson Jannem Goussard told Reuters.

Comair [JSE:COM], which is a franchisee of British Airways and owner of South African low-cost airline Kulula.com, has previously said it has contingency plans in place to ensure that operations will not be affected by the strike.
