Johannesburg - A major water leak in terminal A at Johannesburg's O R Tambo International Airport caused disruptions at check-in counters and to baggage services on Thursday, the Airports Company of SA said.

"The problem has been isolated and all efforts are being made to minimise the inconvenience to passengers," spokeswoman Unathi Batyashe-Fillis said.

Of the 104 check-in counters at the airport, 12 would be out of service on Thursday for inspection of equipment for possible water damage, Batyashe-Fillis said.
