SAA seeks to cash in on Vic Falls demand

Harare - Troubled carrier South African Airways (SAA) has reportedly applied for seven additional flights to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

According to The Herald newspaper, SAA’s regional general manager for Africa and the Middle East Aaron Munetsi said the airline has applied to the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe and the ministry of transport and infrastructural development for more slots into the resort destination.

SAA already flies to Harare 21 times per week, but is looking at cashing in on the growing demand from intercontinental destinations.

SAA, which has seven flights to Victoria Falls weekly, classifies Zimbabwe as a “core market”, hence the need to double the frequency into the resort town.
