Johannesburg - SA Airways on Sunday launched their new route from Johannesburg to Cotonou in Benin.

"This new route to Cotonou forms part of SAA's Africa growth strategy and demonstrates our commitment to being the premier airline linking Africa to the world and the world to Africa," SAA's Theunis Potgieter said in a statement.

SAA said the new route was a milestone as the airline implemented its Africa strategy in support of South Africa's business, tourism, and development imperatives.

Cotonou is the 24th African city SAA flies to from Johannesburg.
