Johannesburg - South African Airways (SAA) passengers will be able to fly between Lanseria airport and Cape Town airport after the airline signed an agreement with Mango, the parties said on Tuesday.
"We are pleased to welcome SAA as a codeshare partner on the Lanseria-Cape Town route," said Mango CEO
Nico Bezuidenhout in a statement.
Codesharing refers to the practice of multiple airlines selling space on the same flights. In terms of the practice, a seat can be purchased on one airline, but is actually operated by another airline under a different flight number or code.
SAA and Mango already have a codeshare agreement for the route between Durban and Cape Town which they signed late last year.
SAA passengers can book on codeshare flights operated by Mango between Lanseria and Cape Town.
