Johannesburg - Two Putco buses have been set alight by angry protesters at Enkangala near Bronkhorstspruit outside Pretoria, the SABC reported on Thursday.

Tshwane metro police spokesman Isaac Mahamba said a crowd of about 500 people barricaded the roads with various objects and forced people out of the buses on Wednesday night.

It is reported that the protesters were complaining about the high price of electricity and other service related issues.

The public broadcaster also reported that no injuries were reported.

Mahamba said police will continue to monitor the situation.
