Mbombela - SANParks has announced that the Kruger National Park restaurants will be closed for renovations as management prepares to welcome franchise giants Wimpy and Mugg & Bean.
Six camps will periodically close their restaurants for six to seven weeks, starting with Lower Sabie on 13 January. Guests have been requested to make self-catering arrangements while renovations are carried out.
The Kruger spokesperson of The SA National Parks, William Mabasa said: "We took the decision to upgrade our restaurants to improve our service to our guests."
SANParks named the successful bidders for the provision of restaurant and retail services at various national parks under its management in October.
At the Lower Sabie, Letaba and Olifants camps, Mugg & Bean restaurants will be fully operational from March 2014, while Wimpy branches will open at the Pretoriuskop and Satara rest camps.
