Comair to-do list for FlySafair passengers

Johannesburg - Following an interim interdict earlier this week, which prohibits FlySafair from selling tickets and starting with its own operations, Comair sets out what passengers with a FlySafair ticket must do to be accommodated.

Comair said on Friday it will take all reasonable steps to accommodate passengers with a FlySafair ticket.

“During the interdict hearing, Comair offered to honour tickets purchased on FlySafair and this has been granted as one of the conditions of the court order," Comair said.

"Comair has finalised the process FlySafair ticket holders should follow to be helped on British Airways (operated by Comair) and kulula.com flights," said Iain Meaker, commercial distribution executive for Comair.

"We have already processed a few hundred bookings."

To get re-accommodated FlySafair ticket holders must Contact FlySafair to receive a full refund of the flights booked.

Then they must call the Comair Contact Centre between 08:30 and 19:00 on 011 921 0205 or 010 492 2230 with their FlySafair reference number.

Alternatively, they must send a request to reaccommodations@comair.co.za.

FlySafair ticket holders may need to provide a copy of the original FlySafair flight confirmation document

"Comair will do its best to have you travelling on the original day they booked, but may not be able to guarantee times due to scheduling and availability," it said.

"Comair may accommodate them on either of its brands kulula.com or British Airways at the same price as originally paid to FlySafair."

The new booking will be made in the same name and for the same route as originally booked with FlySafair.

No name, date or route changes from the original FlySafair booking can be accommodated and no flight changes can be made after the British Airways or kulula.com flight has been confirmed.

Passengers will receive their new flight confirmation once the new booking has been paid for.

Any extra bags, pre-paid seating or travel insurance will need to be requested at the time of booking and paid for separately.

"Passengers cannot arrive at the airport on the day of travel, without adhering to this process," Comair said.
