Paris - The French oil group Total said on Monday it had acquired a 36% stake in a Nigerian offshore exploration site operated by Chevron of the United States.
The price of the transaction was not disclosed.
The license, acquired by Total subsidiary Elf Petroleum Nigeria, is for a zone located 150 kilometers off southeast Nigeria, with a depth of 1 000 to 1 500 metres.
