Johannesburg - Sasol, the world's largest fuel from coal producer, is among nine firms that were on Wednesday fined a
total of €676m by the Europe's antitrust watchdog the European Commission for participating in a paraffin wax cartel.
According to Dow Jones Newswires, Sasol was the leader of the cartel and will have to pay the largest fine of €318m or R3.7bn.
The other producers are ExxonMobil Corp, ENI SPA, Hansen & Rosenthal, Tudapetrol, MOL, Repsol, RWE and Total SA.
