Johannesburg - Sovereign Food [JSE:SOV] advised shareholders on Tuesday that for the year ended 28 February 2017 the company expects a loss per share and headline loss per share of between 42 cents and 54 cents.
This would be compared to the 2016 earnings per share of 108.3 cents and headline earnings per share of 108.4 cents.
Included in these results for the year ended 28 February 2017 are once-off costs incurred as a result of the ongoing hostile defence actions that have been expensed by the group, which accounted for a charge of 41.2 cents per share.
The company's auditors have not reported on or reviewed the financial information on which this trading statement is based. Shareholders are advised that the company's results for the year ended 28 February 2017 are expected to be published on or about 12 May 2017.
