New Tiger Brands boss to start in May

Cape Town - SA’s largest food producer, Tiger Brands [JSE:TBS], announced that new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lawrence Mac Dougall will join the company in May.

"The Board of Directors are pleased to confirm that Lawrence will join the company on 10 May 2016," it said in a SENS statement.

"The Board thanks Noel Doyle for his contribution as acting CEO and confirms that he will lead the Company's Interim Results presentation and subsequent investor engagement."

The Johannesburg-based maker of Albany bread and Black Cat peanut butter announced in March the appointment of Mac Dougall as its new CEO.

He joins Tiger Brands from Mondelez International where he was executive vice president (EVP) and regional president for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Mac Dougall has in excess of 25 years FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) experience in the confectionery, beverages, snacks, groceries and biscuit categories.

The group said if all goes to plan it should have a new CEO by the end of March 2016 after announcing in September last year that Peter Matlare would leave at the end of 2015.
