Harare - Edgars Stores Limited, the Zimbabwean clothing retailer owned 38.28% by South Africa’s Edgars Consolidated Stores (Edcon), reported improved results for the year ended January 10 2015.
Results released by the group on Friday showed that profit for the period was up 22.29% to US$5.183m from $4.238 in the prior comparative year.
Revenue for the period rose 12.66% to $73.036m from $64.823m in the prior year.
Trading profit was slightly lower at $4.295m against $4.913m prior year.
Overall profitability was, however, boosted by an 85% jump in finance income to $5.123m from $2.766m in the prior comparative year.
