Attack forces Chevron pipeline shutdown

Abuja  - US energy firm Chevron said on Monday it has suspended production from a pipeline in Nigeria's Delta state which was breached in an attack on Friday.

Chevron said it was investigating the damage to its Dibi-Abiteye pipeline, but did not say how much production would be lost from shutting down the stream.

A militant group claimed responsibility on Saturday for attacks on Chevron-operated oil facilities in Delta state.
