Sapa - Liquidator Enver Motala has been appointed to investigate Wendy Machanik Property Holdings after the estate agency was put into provisional liquidation, the Business Report said on Tuesday.
Wendy Machanik is accused of embezzlement of R25m from deposits belonging to her clients that had been in a trust fund account.
The High Court in Johannesburg declared WMPH provisionally insolvent last week.
This followed an application by Standard Bank, which feared if would lose the R1.65m Machanik owed it if her company went under as a result of an earlier court ruling that had stopped her from being involved in the selling or buying of properties.
Motala was appointed by the Master of the High Court along with two other liquidators.
He had been involved in high profile liquidations, including that of Aurora Empowerment Systems.
