Johannesburg - One of the unions representing workers at Eskom has rejected a revised wage offer of 8.5% plus a R1 000 housing allowance.
National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) shop stewards met on Tuesday.
"A new offer of 8.5% wage increment plus R1 000 housing allowance (conditional) has been made by Eskom. We are rejecting this offer," said Numsa spokesperson Castro Ngobese.
Eskom has moved from an initial 5% wage increment offer to the current 8.5% while unions have moved from an 18% wage demand to 9%.
The other two unions involved in the wage dispute, the National Union of Mineworkers (Num) and Solidarity, are yet to respond to the revised offer.
Num shop stewards also met on Tuesday but have not yet issued a statement, while Solidarity said it would meet on Wednesday to obtain a new mandate from members.
