Johannesburg - A report that Nigeria's First Bank may be considering a secondary listing on the JSE could not be confirmed on Tuesday.
The bank's chairperson Oba Otudeko was quoted in the Nigerian daily newspaper Punch as saying that a secondary listing was on the table. The bank is apparently considering either London or Johannesburg in a bid to improve to improve its access to long-term capital.
By late Tuesday afternoon, emails from I-Net Bridge to the Nigerian bank seeking confirmation of the report had still not elicited a response.
