Cape Town - Former Sekunjalo Investments CEO Mo Kajee has been appointed CEO of Sealub Alliance South Africa, the official southern African distributor of Gulf Oil Marine.

According to an announcement on Tuesday morning, the appointment follows a multimillion rand black economic empowerment (BEE) deal with Kajee.

Kajee recently stepped down from Sekunjalo after the CEO's position became redundant following a restructuring of the empowerment company's operational structure.

The shift into Sealub is an interesting diversion for Kajee, who carries broad marine experience from his tenures as CEO of Premier Fishing and MD of I&J.

Sealub Alliance South Africa forms part of the global marine lubricant distribution network operating as a member of the international Sealub Alliance Network.

Currently the Sealub Alliance supplies marine lubricants under the Gulf Oil brand to more than 700 ports in over 50 countries around the world.

In a brief press statement, Kajee said Sealub had the potential to become a formidable player in the southern African energy sector.
