Old Mutual [JSE:OML] on Tuesday announced the appointment of Bongani Madikiza as Managing
Director of Old Mutual Corporate with effect from 1 October 2010.
He will succeed Seelan Gobalsamy who resigned to pursue other interests.
Comments Kuseni Dlamini, CEO of Old Mutual SA and Emerging Markets: "We regret bidding farewell to Seelan and thank him for his contribution to the business. We are, however, pleased that we've been able to move swiftly to appoint Bongani Madikiza, currently Executive General Manager Corporate Distribution, as the new Managing Director for Old Mutual Corporate. There
will be a managed handover during the immediate period ahead."
Old Mutual Corporate offers a range of solutions to clients, including investment, administration, risk benefits and independent consulting advice to pension funds. It also offers a number of solutions to corporate clients of all sizes, including asset/liability matching, post-retirement medical aid solutions, mining rehabilitation solutions and structured insurance.
Madikiza holds an MBA and started his career at MEEG bank, where he focused on driving their bancassurance model. He joined the trade union movement where he fulfilled a number of roles, including national head of negotiations.
He was appointed by Sun International as business development manager in 1998. He was recruited by Old Mutual in January 2000 and served in OM's fast growing Retail Mass Markets division. Madikiza joined Lekana Employee Benefit Solutions as director for administration and operations. Old Mutual re-appointed him as General Manager: Corporate in 2008 and promoted him to Executive GM Corporate Distribution in 2009.
