Netcare profit to jump

Johannesburg - South African private hospital group Netcare expects a 35% to 45% rise in first-half headline earnings per share, boosted by gains on the disposal of its interest in Ampath Group and improved earnings from its key markets.

Netcare, which operates private hospitals in South Africa and the UK, said basic EPS for the six months to end March would rise by between 208% to 218%.

Netcare sold its 50% stake in Ampath Group, an entity that provides management services to Ampath Laboratories, for R1.026bn.
