Johannesburg - Africa's biggest media company Naspers hopes to conclude a black economic empowerment deal by the end of this financial year, its chief executive Koos Bekker said on Tuesday.
South African cmopanies have to meet quotas on black ownership, employment and procurement aimed at redressing the imbalances of apartheid. Naspers said the deal would be "broad-based" rather than a deal that gives big name black investors a big stake in the company but did not give details.
