Johannesburg - Shares of Lonmin [JSE:LON] slid 2.6% to
R100.60 as the platinum miner was hit again by the lower spot platinum price.
Lonmin is the Top 40 - (Tradeable) [JSE:J200] worst
performing stock so far this quarter, down 20%.
Platinum has been hit by nagging concerns about the outlook
for global demand. The precious metal is used to make autocatalysts that reduce
car emissions.
Platinum is down nearly 1% at $1 426.19 an ounce, and has fallen 13% this quarter.
