Johannesburg - Kumba Iron Ore [JSE:KIO] advised on Monday that for the 12 months ended December 2011, its headline earnings per share (Heps) and earnings per share (EPS) are likely to be between R51.40 and R55.80.

For the same period in 2010, Heps and EPS were R44.67 and R44.66 respectively. Kumba will release its annual results on February 9.

Headline earnings and basic earnings for the period are likely to be between R16.5bn and R17.9bn.

The increase in earnings is largely attributable to a rise in export iron ore prices in the period, it said.
