Accra - Striking workers at Gold Fields' operations in Ghana are likely to resume work on Monday following the conclusion of talks between their leaders and management to resolve their grievances, a union leader said.
"We had a comprehensive discussion with management and we have agreed that work should resume. That is likely to happen later today," Prince Ankrah, general secretary of the Ghana Mineworkers Union, told Reuters.
Workers at the Tarkwa and Damang mines, in which Gold Fields has a 90% interest, embarked on a wildcat strike last week, resulting in the shutdown of both mines.
