Debswana, De Beers celebrate anniversary

Gaborone - The partnership between Debswana, the government of Botswana and De Beers was celebrated in Gaborone recently.

The celebration showcased the significant role diamonds play in Botswana’s economy and re-affirmed the commitment of the company motto of “mining diamonds, enriching the nation".

The event showcased the history of mining and how Botswana has evolved and transformed on a global level.

The international demand for diamonds is expected to grow and so too is the 45-year-long partnership between the government Botswana and De Beers. They foresee many years of mining still to come and that, through strategic planning, Botswana will remain a key player in the diamond mining industry internationally.

Botswana is home to one of the richest gemstone mines in the world.
