Johannesburg - Coal of Africa said on Thursday it has re-hired 178 workers it sacked last week for going on an illegal strike at its Mooiplaats mine. 

SA's gold and platinum mining sectors have been rocked this year by a wave of wildcat strikes that have raised worries of slowing growth for the economy.
