CEO of Harmony Gold to retire, shares tumble

Johannesburg - Graham Briggs will retire as chief executive and board member of Harmony Gold [JSE:HAR] after seven years at the helm, South Africa's third-largest gold producer said on Thursday, sending the its shares tumbling.

Briggs, who has been with Harmony for 20 years, will remain in his CEO role until the board has found a suitable replacement, the company said.

By late afternoon Harmony's share price was down 7.54% at R13.49.
