Key appointments at Shanduka

Johannesburg - The Shanduka Group has announced the appointment Phuti Malabie as its new CEO, Kojo Mills as MD and David Ngobeni as CFO.

The appointments were effective immediately, the investment company's chairperson Cyril Ramaphosa said in a statement on Friday.

"I am very pleased to report that Shanduka Group has grown significantly in the last 10 years and I am confident these changes will further bolster the growth of our business into the future," he said.

In the past six years, Malabie had been at the helm of Shanduka Energy, a role she managed with skill and understanding, said Ramaphosa.

She would continue to provide strategic direction to that division.

She was taking over from Mills, who was acting CEO.

Mills, also one of the founding directors of Shanduka Group, had worked very closely with Ramaphosa in developing the company's long-term succession strategy.

Ngobeni had been with the company for two years as financial manager.

Before joining Shanduka, he was an investment banker with the Standard Bank Corporate and Investment Banking Division.

Shanduka has a number of investments in resources, energy and other sectors.
