Transnet appoints auditor

Johannesburg - Transnet has appointed Mmathabo Sukati to lead the company's internal audit function from Monday, CEO Brian Molefe said.

"Her appointment is part of our continuing commitment to strengthening our governance, risk management, and controls environment across the company," he said in a statement.

"She will also assume responsibility for the group forensics unit... Sukati is a seasoned audit professional and a chartered accountant."

Sukati joined the company from Monday, as chief audit executive from the SA Revenue Service.

Her appointment meant women now made up 46.2% of the executive committee.
