Johannesburg - Shares in Trencor [JSE:TRE] rose more than 3% as the South African marine cargo containers owner said full-year profit likely rose as much as 61% boosted by a stronger rand and better performance from unit Textainer.
Trencor was up 3.45% at R36 in Friday morning trade.
It said it expected to report adjusted headline earnings per share (HEPS) of between 360 cents and 380 cents for the year to December 2010 from 203.5 cents in 2009.
Headline earnings per share are expected to be between 325 cents and 345 cents from 134.8 cents.
A reduction of R189m in Trencor's net long-term receivable valuation adjustment following the much improved outlook for collections also contributed to the better performance.
