Cape Town - Eskom's prepaid electricity system will be off-line from Sunday evening to Monday morning for an upgrade, the parastatal said on Friday.
"The prepaid on-line vending system (OVS) that is used by our customers to buy electricity tokens will be upgraded and moved to a new hardware platform from Sunday July 21 to early morning on Monday July 22 2013," Eskom said in a statement.
The upgrade is expected to take until 06:00 on Monday.
Eskom encouraged its prepaid customers to buy enough electricity to last them through the evening.
