Cape Town - The results of a transformation audit of the South African petroleum industry will be released in March 2011, the SA Petroleum Industry Association said on Thursday.
The audit was an attempt to determine how the industry was complying with the decade-old Petroleum and Liquid Fuels Charter, the association said.
The association also said that PetroSA vice-president for trading Nompumelelo Siswana has been elected association chairperson for 2011.
"Industry welcomes the audit, as the results will help identify bottlenecks and the interventions required for improvement," she said.
She said that during 2011 the petroleum industry will also focus on security of supply.
As a result of delays in Transnet's new multi-products pipeline project between Durban and Johannesburg, further pressure would be placed on "already constrained" infrastructure.
"Industry will continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure security of supply to the inland markets during the delay period," she said.
