Cape Town - Eskom said on Tuesday that it will honour the memory of former president Nelson Mandela by pushing its electrification programme.
"As president, he championed the electrification programme – we were able to achieve 2-million new connections during his term in office."
The parastatal said it will continue its drive to connect homes, schools and clinics, thereby improving the lives of ordinary South Africans.
It is also working closely with government to ensure quality of electricity supply during the memorial period for the former president.
Madiba's inspirational life will last far beyond his passing, Eskom said.
