Johannesburg - Eskom will host the African Utility Week and Clean Power Africa conference for the next five years, it said on Wednesday.
The next two-day conference would take place in Cape Town from May 13.
"[It] is attended by more than 5000 power and water professionals from more than 30 African countries and 70 worldwide, at what is the largest utility gathering of its kind on the continent," said Eskom communications manager Annemarie Roodbol.
Eskom CEO Brian Dames welcomed the hosting duties.
"As Eskom we are proud to have been a part of it for the past 13 years."
He said topics on the agenda next year included the role of prepaid metering for revenue management and ways of avoiding an electricity supply crisis.
Event director Russel Hughes said: "It is encouraging to have Eskom's support for our outreach into the utility, large scale power and water user industries."
