Johannesburg - Retailer of building materials and associated products Cashbuild [JSE:CSB] on Tuesday announced the appointment of Werner de Jager as chief executive to the with effect from March 1 2012, following the retirement of Pat Goldrick.

It followed a comprehensive selection process, comprising both internal and external candidates.

De Jager was initially appointed as financial director to the board on December 1 2004, and in March he was appointed as director of marketing and procurement.

According to Cashbuild, De Jager has gained in-depth knowledge and understanding of the company's business in his various roles, and the board said it was confident that he would provide excellent leadership to Cashbuild in his new position.
