Cape Town - Azapak paper packaging manufacturer recently submitted itself to an audit by the South African Bureau of Standards (Sabs) for compliance in line with the internationally recognised ISO 9000 requirements for quality management.
The ISO 9000 requirements for quality management systems audits criteria such as commitment to quality, commitment to service, adequacy of resources, employee competence and process management to name a few of the stringent standards.
Having fulfilled the criteria of the audit, Azapak has been granted an ISO 9000 certification by the Sabs.
Azapak is currently one of the market leaders in paper packaging manufacture in SA with 60% of the market share.
The company, which operates from Paarl in the Western Cape, is a supplier of various paper packaging products to the agricultural sector as well as to a growing market of industrial clients.
The company started off with two staff in 2005 and currently employs 50 permanent staff and runs five distinct product lines.
“This certification is an important milestone for Azapak,” said Azapak MD Yagen Padayachee.
“We have made major strides since the inception of the business, but we continue to push ourselves to innovate and grow in order to better serve our customers."
To him the ISO certification is proof of the company's commitment to benchmark itself against global standards.
